Doppelganger Of Death/Self Titled/Coffee Breath Records/2012 EP Review

Doppelganger  Of  Death  are  a  band  from  the  Czech  Republic  that  plays  a  crust  influenced  form  of  raw  and  primitive  depressive  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2012  ep  which was  released  by  Coffee  Breath  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  sound  effects  which  are  only  used  briefly  bring  elements  of  ambient  to  the  recording,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  depressive  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  crust  elements  being  thrown  into  the  riffing  at  times  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  soft  and  clean  playing  being  utilized  on  the  last  song  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  are  all  deep  sounding  blackened  crust  growls,  while  the  lyrics  dark  and  depressive  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it  with  some  of  the  songs  being  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  Doppelganger  are  a  very  great  sounding  crust  influenced,  raw  and  primitive  depressive  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Darkness"  and  "Nothingness".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
